I made this digital illustration using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. This shirt design was made for a competition for a A Japanese fashion brand called ACDC Rag. They wanted creators to make shirt designs based on three different categories: Pop, Pastel, and Dark. I chose the pop category to make a design for. For this concept, I wanted to take the word pop, and make it literal by combining shiny 2-D and 3-D icons and elements together with bright, beaming colors and snacks to make it feel like pop art, one of my favorite art movements. With the background and the character outfit details, I was inspired by decora fashion, and how the main purpose the subculture is layer on as much as possible, which is what I emulated within the shirt's main design on the front. I want this shirt to not only be a feast for the eyes, (no pun intended) but a fun and playful sensory experience for everyone to enjoy!
I hand sketched the illustration with graphite before digitizing it in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
